Work work work

I know, I know, it's been nearly a month since the last time I updated this blog. I've been trying really hard to get around to it, and there's really no excuse, but I'll say this: I've been working a TON! Not only have I had two sample sales in the last week, but I've been working on several personal projects, one of which is for a good friend. Go check out her jewelry here.

The other project is a lot more time consuming and, quite honestly, a lot harder. Yes, that's right, I'm looking for a literary agent for my novel.

Ok, so I may be a little ahead of myself, since my novel isn't exactly finished or anything, but the daunting task of actually sitting down to write every day would be a lot easier if I actually knew that something would come of it. So I keep procrastinating, sitting down to write only to get distracted by the fact that my room needs to be cleaned, my best NYC friend wants to hang out, and that I don't really understand a single sentence on the newest Panic at the Disco CD, so why do I really like it so much anyway?

It's not like this research will only help in one area...I mean, eventually I would like to get back into the book publishing field. Someday I may even open my own literary agency. So really, the information I'm gleaning is doubly useful...yeah, that's what I keep telling myself.

So instead of posting another poem on my other blog today, I'm going to sit down in my teeny, tiny little room with a cup of coffee and make it past 50,000 words on my manuscript. That's my goal. And if you see me out and about before I'm done, you have my permission to "slap my face off my face" (a quote I've picked up from a crazy fun coworker).

When I'm done, I'm going to see THE LIFE, a musical put on at City College of New York. Tell you how it is tomorrow :)
